One keyword per line. Empty lists are skipped.
The keyword combiner merges up to three lists of words into every possible combination. It is useful for brainstorming long-tail keywords, building location or product variations, and preparing keyword lists for PPC campaigns in broad, “phrase” or [exact] match format.
How to use this tool
- Enter one keyword per line in the first list, for example modifiers such as best, cheap or free.
- Enter your main keywords in the second list.
- Optionally add a third list, such as locations or years.
- Choose a match type and copy the combined keywords.
Example
A first list of best and free combined with a second list of seo tools and keyword tools produces four phrases: best seo tools, best keyword tools, free seo tools and free keyword tools. Adding a third list with two items doubles the output to eight phrases.
Why it matters for SEO
Combining lists is a fast way to explore how people might phrase a search, but not every combination deserves its own page. Check the combined phrases in a keyword research tool for real search demand, then group phrases with the same intent onto a single page. Creating near-identical pages for every variation leads to thin, duplicate content that competes with itself.
Best practices
- Keep each list focused on one type of modifier.
- Remove combinations that read unnaturally before using them.
- Validate demand before creating content.
- Map each search intent to one page, not each keyword.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a limit to how many combinations I can create?
The tool stops at 5,000 combinations to keep your browser responsive. That is far more than you would normally review by hand.
What do the match types mean?
They wrap each phrase in the syntax used by ad platforms: broad match has no symbols, phrase match uses quotation marks and exact match uses square brackets.
