This generator turns a list of questions and answers into FAQPage structured data in JSON-LD format, the format search engines recommend. Add as many questions as you need, then copy the ready-made script tag into your page or your SEO plugin.
How to use this tool
- Enter each question exactly as it appears on your page.
- Add the matching answer. Plain text works best.
- Use Add question for more pairs and Remove to delete one.
- Copy the JSON-LD and add it to the page that shows these questions and answers.
What FAQ schema does
Structured data describes the content of a page in a machine-readable way. FAQPage markup tells search engines that the page contains a list of questions, each with one accepted answer. Search engines now show FAQ rich results only for a limited set of authoritative sites, but the markup remains valid schema.org data that helps machines, including AI assistants, understand your content. It also keeps your questions and answers consistent: the same wording appears in the page, the markup and any snippet built from them.
Rules to follow
- Only mark up questions and answers that are visible to users on the same page.
- Do not use FAQ markup for advertising or for user-submitted questions with multiple answers; use QAPage for forums.
- Each question should appear only once across your site’s FAQ markup.
- Test the page with a rich results testing tool after publishing.
Frequently asked questions
Where should I paste the generated code?
Add it to the page’s HTML, in the head or body. In WordPress you can use a Custom HTML block or your SEO plugin’s schema settings. If your SEO plugin already generates FAQ schema from an FAQ block, do not add it twice.
Can I include links or formatting in answers?
Some basic HTML such as links, lists and bold text is allowed in answers, but plain text is the safest choice and is always valid.
